Hi, I'm Madonna Kimball. In addition to being the publisher of the Hill Country Sun magazine, I'm also advertising director, distribution coordinator, ad graphics designer and bookkeeper.

I was born and raised in Williamport, Pennsylvania, home of the Little League World Series, and moved to the Houston, Texas, area in the late 1970s where I worked at the Pasadena Citizen newspaper. After quite a few years there, Allan and I moved to the Hill Country in 1990 and in May of that same year started this magazine.

We met so many interesting and talented people, visited some wonderful places and attended lots of fun filled events. The artists, musicians, parks, museums, bed and breakfasts and events gave us a wealth of information we wanted to share with others. We wanted to give recognition to some of these talented musicians and artists, so the Hill Country Sun was born.

We're very proud and thankful to have on our team some of the most talented, intelligent and dependable freelance writers in the Hill Country.

Our distribution is mostly in gift shops, restaurants, lodging facilities, chambers of commerce, boutiques and other shops throughout the Hill Country from Burnet to Kerrville and from San Antonio to Austin. We also ship them to the Texas Highway Deparment's Visitor Information centers across the state, and have subscribers from Vermont to California.

We've also published Hill Country Treasures, a compilation of some of the most interesting features that appeared in the magazine since its inception. Allan also authored the Fun with the Family in Texas guide published by Globe Pequot, the largest travel book publisher in the US, and we published the Big Bend Guide - Travel Tips and Suggested Itineraries, all of which can be seen on our website.
